While Uani Unga sat with a neck injury, several other Cougars stepped up in week 7 of NFL action.  Ziggy, Fua, Sorensen, and KVN all registered at least one tackle, while Van Noy recorded his first NFL sack. All 2015 pro stats for former Cougs are outlined below.

Stat Lines (alphabetical)

  • Ziggy Ansah (DE, Detroit Lions, 3rd season). Ziggy had four solo tackles, a forced fumble, and a sack in Detroit’s 28-19 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.  Season Stats (7 games): 20 tackles (17 solo, three assists), 6.0 sacks, 2 FF, 1 FR, 3 TFL.
  • John Denney (LS, Miami Dolphins, 11th season). Denney recorded no stats in Miami’s 44-26 victory over the Houston Texans.
  • Alani Fua (LB, Arizona Cardinals, UDFA rookie). Fua had one solo tackle in Arizona’s 26-16 victory over the Baltimore Ravens.  Season Stats (7 games): 3 solo tackles
  • Dennis Pitta (TE, Baltimore Ravens, 6th season). Pitta is currently on the injured list (hip) and did not play in Baltimore’s 26-18 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
  • Dallas Reynolds (G, New York Giants, 4th season). Recorded no statistics in New York’s 27-20 victory over the Dallas Cowboys.
  • Daniel Sorensen (DB, Kansas City Chiefs, 2nd season). Sorensen recorded one solo tackle in Kansas City’s 23-13 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Season stats (7 games): 2 solo tackles.
  • Uani (Devin) Unga (LB, New York Giants, 2nd season). Unga sat out New York’s victory over the Dallas Cowboys with a neck injury.  Season stats (6 games): 42 tackles (31 SOLO, 11 AST), 2 TFL (STF), 4 PD, 2 FF, 2 INT.
  • Kyle Van Noy (LB, Detroit Lions, 2nd season).  KVN had two solo tackles and a sack in Detroit’s 28-19 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Season stats (7 games): 3 solo tackles, 2 assisted tackles, one sack.

Players in the Canadian Football League (CFL)

  • John Beck (QB, BC Lions, 2nd season). Is currently on injured list and announced he will retire from playing football at the conclusion of this season. Season stats: 50-79 (.633) passing for 498 yards, four TDs, and four INTs.  3 carries for 32 yards.  QB rating of 76.9.
  • Austin Collie (WR, BC Lions, 1st season). Had two receptions for 19 yards. Season stats: 41 receptions for 430 yards (10.5 ave.) and seven TDs; 1-1 passing for 21 yards and one touchdown; one tackle.
  • Cody Hoffman (WR, Montreal Alouettes, 1st season). Season stats: four receptions for 59 yards (14.8 ave.) and one TD.
  • Quinn Lawlor (OL, Montreal Alouettes, 1st season).
