Steven Beo is the most recent BYU basketball commitment, having commited today to Dave Rose for the Class of 2016. Beo was the second leading scorer from the Richland High School Bombers (Washington) as a Freshman and has started every game since the first game of his freshman season. As a sophomore he named to the 2nd team all-league and 4A all-state tournament first team. In 2015 he was named to the First team All-State, the Mid Columbia Conference Player of the Year, and was the MCC scoring leader. As a Junior he broke the Richland HS single game scoring record with 49 points (and 11 rebounds) vs. Wenatchee. He averaged 27.7 points per game which ranked #1 in Washington. He was named to the Washington State 4A Championships 1st team all-tourney and was named the Tri-City Herald’s All-Area Player of the Year.
Beo was not rated by the three major recruiting services (Rivals, Scout, ESPN). He received scholarship scholarship offers from Boise State, BYU, Central Washington, Colorado, Eastern Washington, and Washington. He has also seen interest from Arizona, Gonzaga, Stanford, Virginia, and Washington State. Beo is a member of the LDS church but currently has no mission plans.
Just got off the phone with coach Rose a little bit ago and have decided that I’ll be attending BYU!!! #futurecoug
