Wyatt Lowell was a power forward prospect for the BYU basketball Class of 2016 but announced on November 10, 2015 that he will play for Utah Valley University and coach Mark Pope, spurring Big 12 and PAC 12 offers.

After playing his freshman and sophomore seasons for Gilbert High School, Lowell now plays for Williams Field HS. As a Junior at Williams Field he averaged 15.2 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game. He was a 2015 All-Academic and All-Tribune honorable mention. He put on an additional 20 pounds and had a productive AAU summer (2015) leading to several scholarship offers.
Lowell is rated 4-stars by Scout, and 3-stars by Rivals and ESPN (grade of 73). Scout has Lowell as the No. 1 Power Forward recruit in Arizona and the No. 5 PF recruit in the west while ESPN list him as the No. 4 overall recruit in Arizona. He has scholarship offers from Colgate, Colorado, Grand Canyon, Lehigh, Northern Colorado, Oklahoma State, Rice, San Diego, UC-Davis, USC, Utah State, Utah Valley, and Weber State. He has seen interest from ASU, Brown, Cal, BYU, Iowa, Northern Arizona, and Utah. Lowell is the nephew of former BYU Cougar Stephen Rogers and plans on taking an LDS mission after high school.
