Alfrey preps at Mountainview High School (Auburn, WA), where he does a little bit of everything.  He has spent time at receiver, running back, quarterback, kicker/punter, and kick returner.  As a junior he had 18 receptions for 221 yards and two touchdowns, 142 rushes for 581 yards and ten touchdowns, and completed 84 of 155 Passes for 1051 yards and seven touchdowns.  On defense he had 89 tackles (61 solo), 10 tackles for loss, two passes defended, one fumble forced and one fumble recovered, and two interceptions.  On special teams he had 28 punts for 925 yards (33.0 avg) and pinned opponents in the 20 nine times.  He also had three kickoff returns for 88 yards (29.3 avg) and four punt returns for 17 yards.

Alfrey was the NPSL Olympic’s all-purpose player of the year and made the All-Area first-team as a punter AND as a defensive back. He is also an all-league basketball player for Mountainview and a state qualifier as a member of the track and field team (long jump, triple jump, and 4×100).

Alfrey is rated 2-stars by Scout and is still unrated by Rivals and ESPN. He holds scholarship offers from Air Force, Idaho, and Nevada and has received recruiting interest from Boise State, Oregon, Oregon State, Utah, Washington, and Washington State.  He plans to serve an LDS mission prior to suiting up for BYU and will join the Cougars for the 2020 season.
