Williams, Hill, Nacua, Sorensen and Van Noy all have NFL firsts on a great weekend for BYU alumns. BYU Pro Tracker: NFL, Week 13

The following are the statistics and snap counts for all BYU alumni who played in the NFL this week:

Jamaal Williams, RB, Green Bay Packers.  Williams again started for Green Bay and for the first time in his career rushed for over 100 yards in a game.  He finished with 21 carries for 113 yards (5.38 ypc) and one touchdown, and caught two passes for another ten yards. He played 48 snaps on offense (87%).  Season Totals: 91 rushes for 337 yards and three touchdowns, 15 receptions for 161 yards and a touchdown, two tackles.

Daniel Sorensen, S, Kansas City Chiefs. Sorensen had a whopping six solo tackles, and five assisted tackles in his first double digit tackle game. It was also announced this weekend that he made the Pro Bowl ballot for the first time (go here to vote for him).  Sorensen started and played 89 snaps on defense (98%) and 9 snaps on special teams (28%). Season Totals: 56 solo tackles, 21 assisted tackles, 1.5 sacks, four tackles for loss, four passes defended, one interception.

Kyle Van Noy, LB, New England Patriots.  Van Noy had one solo tackle, two assisted tackles, a half sack, and one pass defended.  He also made the Pro Bowl ballot for the first time (go here to vote for him).  He started and played 15 defensive snaps (22%) and two more on special teams (10%).  His limited snaps were due to a minor calf injury he suffered last week and it looks like he also got hurt on his sack this week. Season Totals: 58 solo tackles, 15 assisted tackles, four tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, two passes defended.

Ezekiel Ansah, DE, Detroit Lions.  Ansah had five solo tackles. He started and played 32 snaps on defense (44%) and another snap on special teams (3%).  Ansah has also been named to the Pro Bowl ballot after playing in the Pro Bowl two seasons ago.  Season Totals: 23 solo tackles, two assisted tackles, 5.0 sacks, one tackle for loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery.

Taysom Hill, QB, New Orleans Saints.  Hill played in his first NFL game as a member of the special teams.  He twice put pressure on the punter, had one tackle, and got a lot of praise (and the game ball) from his teammates.  He played 12 special teams snaps (41%).  Season Totals: one tackle

Kai Nacua, DB, Cleveland Browns. Nacua played on the defense for the first time this season and recorded his first NFL stat with a tackle.  He played 14 snaps on defense (20%) and four snaps on special teams (19%). Season Totals: One tackle

Michael Davis, CB, Los Angeles Chargers.  Davis played on special teams and had one solo tackle. Season Totals: 13 solo tackles, one assisted tackle, one pass deflection.

John Denney, LS, Miami Dolphins.  Denney played 14 snaps at long snapper (41%) and recorded no stats.  Season Totals: No stats.

Inactive Players

  • Bronson Kaufusi, DE, Baltimore Ravens. Kaufusi was not active this week.  Season Totals: Three solo tackles, one assisted tackle in three games played.
  • Harvey Langi, ILB, New England Patriots. Langi was not active this week.  Season Totals: One solo tackle

Recently Waived Players

  • Jordan Leslie, WR, Cleveland Browns. Leslie was waived by the Browns on October 11th following a hamstring injury.  He is currently a free agent.  Season Totals: one reception for 26 yards.
  • Alani Fua, LB, Arizona Cardinals. Fua was on injured reserve last season and started this year there as well, but his knee never fully healed so they waived him on September 17, 2017. Season Totals: no stats
