On Monday BYU extended a scholarship offer to QB/DB Trajon Cotton (Class of 2017), his 18th offer.

Cotton preps at Inderkum High School, where the 6-foot-1 180 pound junior plays quarterback and defensive back. He was a first-team All-Metro selection in 2015 at defensive back after recording 49 tackles, two forced fumbles, and five interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. At QB he threw for 1177 yards and eight touchdowns, while running for 388 yards and eight more scores. He also runs on the track team.
Cotton is rated 3-stars by Rivals and Scout, who puts him as the No. 2 safety in California. He has not yet been rated by ESPN. Cotton holds scholarship offers from BYU, Cal, Colorado, Colorado State, Eastern Washington, Hawaii, Memphis, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State, UCLA, Utah, Washington State, and Wyoming.
