BYU flips 3-star QB Stacy Conner from UNLV commitment (Class of 2018)

Stacy Conner is a 6-foot-5 195 pound quarterback who was previously committed to UNLV.  It is being reported that he has flipped that commitment and will be an early enrollee at BYU in January.

Conner preps at Wylie High School (TX), where as a senior he threw for 1009 yards and 12 touchdowns, and rushed for 167 yards and four touchdowns.  As a junior he completed 135-of-260 passes for 1757 yards and 21 touchdowns for Bishop Dunne (Dallas, TX).

Conner is rated 3-stars by 247Sports, 2-stars by Rivals, and is not yet rated by ESPN. He holds scholarship offers from Abilene Christian, Arkansas State, Connecticut, Illinois State, Jackson State, Memphis, Nevada, New Mexico, North Texas, San Jose State, Texas State, and UNLV.  He has also seen recruiting interest from Cal, Baylor, Mississippi State, Purdue, and Washington. This is actually his third verbal commitment, having been previously committed to Texas State and then UNLV.

When I asked him “why the Cougars” his response was “I feel BYU best fits my personality, and for the sense of family.” He noted that he has the goal of “one day becoming the starting QB” and helping “get our program back to where it belongs.”  I love that he is already talking in “we’s” and “ours”, showing his commitment to the program.  He also told BYU Insider that he is “fully committed and will not entertain [offers from] any other schools.”  His parting words were “let cougarfans know I will give them 110% on and off field.”
