Las Vegas speedster Iyen Medlock gets a BYU offer (Class of 2017)

Nevermind that the season starts in a few days.  BYU continues to recruit and Saturday the Cougars became the first D1 program to offer Iyen Medlock a football scholarship (Class of 2017).

medlock_iyen_150pxMedlock is a 6-foot-1 168 pound WR/QB from Las Vegas that claims 4.58 forty and 10.81 100 meter times.  He preps at Valley High School, where as a sophomore he completed 11 of 35 passes for 123 yards (11.2 avg) and two touchdowns to four picks.  He also rushed 22 times for an additional 123 yards (5.6 avg) and two more touchdowns, caught four passes for sixty yards, and returned two kickoffs for 56 yards. On defense he had 12 tackles (6 solo, 6 assisted) and a sack.

Last season as a junior he completed 32 of 81 passes (.395) for a 10.6 average, with four touchdowns and seven interceptions.  He rushed 117 times for 422 yards and four more touchdowns, with four two-point conversions.  He had 14 tackles (10 solo), one tackle for loss, and two fumble recoveries. He also punted twice for 80 yards. Medlock is not yet rated by Scout, Rivals, or ESPN.
