Allan Mwata became the ninth player to commit to the BYU football Class of 2018 when he made a verbal commitment today at the BYU Fan Fest in Las Vegas.

Mwata preps at Liberty High School (Henderson, NV), the same high school that Kai Nacua attended and where BYU target Kenyon Oblad is the quarterback. As a junior at Liberty Mwata had 46 tackles (30 solo), 11 passes defended, and three interceptions with one of them returned for a touchdown. He was named to the All-Conference team and was an All-State honorable mention.
Mwata is rated 3-stars by Scout, 2-stars by Rivals, and is not yet rated by ESPN. He is the No. 1 rated Safety in Nevada (per Scout) and holds scholarship offers from BYU and Florida Atlantic. He has also seen recruiting interested from Utah and Washington. Mwata was recruited by BYU to play cornerback.
