BYU Insider was a blog that I created and posted to from 2014 to 2020. I loved writing about my BYU Cougars and especially enjoyed interviewing hundreds of athletes that were being recruited by, played for, or were alumni of Brigham Young University. At its peak in 2018, the blog was getting tens of thousands of monthly views and passed one million total views. At that point I was a semi-regular contributor to the Deseret News, ESPN 960 Radio, and was a guest writer on several other publications. It was a really fun side hustle that opened doors to working with athletes on other projects and made enough income (through ads on the blog) that my wife and I were able to go on our first cruise.
In 2020 I transitioned away from the blog due to other projects (books, speaking, product reviews). I haven’t shut down the site but it is currently on indefinite hold. Thank you to all of you who supported my work here and for all the incredible people I was able to meet and work with because of my time as a sports writer. Cheers,
