Jones preps at Romeo High School (Romeo, MI), where as a junior he paved the way for fullback Brian St. Clair, who rushed for 1,000 yards as they helped lead the Bulldogs to a 7-3 record.  Head coach Curt Rienas told Michigan Live that Jones “has the potential t be the best player I’ve coached in my 20 years at Romeo.” He explains that Jones “has a great combination of athleticism and work ethic… and he just loves to compete.”  Jones has played on the defensive line and can play guard or tackle on offense. He also plays basketball for Romeo. Â
Jones is rated 3-stars by 247Sports. and Rivals. He holds scholarship offers from Air Force, Army, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Eastern Michigan, Indian, Iowa State, Kent State, Miami (OH), Northwood, Toledo, Tulane, Virginia, and Western Michigan.  He is the fifth commitment for the BYU Class of 2021, joining Raider Damuni, Tevita Mafileo, Kyson Hall, and Ricky Wolgramm. Jones has LDS mission plans after high school so he will likely join the Cougars for the 2023 season.
