- 2020 (COVID Freshman). Played in four games and had 13 tackles (10 solo), with 5.5 tackles for loss, three quarterback hurries, and four sacks

High School. Batty prepped at Payson High School (Payson, Utah), where in eight games as a senior he had one touchdown reception, 50 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and 6 sacks. He earned a most valuable player award at the tight end position at the All-Poly Camp in June and as a junior he was named to the All-Region 8 and All-Valley first teams as a defensive lineman.
Recruitment. Batty was rated 3-stars by 247Sports (0.8146), who rated him the no. 19 overall player from Utah in the Class of 2017. He held scholarship offers from: Air Force, BYU, Hawaii, Utah, and Utah State. Batty committed to BYU on December 15, 2016.
