
Trey Andersen is a 6-foot-6 240 pound tight end and long snapper who made an official visit to BYU this past weekend and announced his decision to commit Wednesday night (Class of 2019).

Andersen preps at Lehi High School, where as a senior he caught 28 passes for 487 yards and two touchdowns (see highlights below). He also plays for the Lehi basketball team.
Andersen is rated 3-stars by 247Sports. He holds scholarship offers from BYU, Eastern Washington, Montana State-Northern, and Weber State. He has also seen recruiting interest from Boise State, Cal, Utah, and Utah State. He is the 15th player to commit to BYU’s football class of 2019 and plans on serving an LDS mission right out of high school so he will join the Cougars as part of the class of 2021.

I caught up with Andersen to ask him about his recruitment.
BYU Insider: Why did you choose BYU?
Andersen: Because it has been a dream school of mine for the longest time since my dad played there and I was wanting to become a legacy kid. I feel like BYU is a great fit for me to push me in the academic part of school. To be playing in front of 65,000 screaming fans.

Andersen: Eastern Washington, Utah, and Utah State
BYU Insider: What is your greatest accomplishment in sports?
Andersen: State champ in football and state champ in shot put for track

Andersen: “there is always someone out there working harder than you”
