Cal De-Commit Trevin Knell makes verbal commitment to BYU Basketball for 2019

6-foot-5 190 pound sharp shooter Trevin Knell announced last night that he will be joining the BYU basketball team in 2019.

Knell prepped at Woods Cross (Utah) where he averaged 25.4 points as a senior, shooting 52.6% from the field, 48.3% from three, and 86.2% from the line.  He also averaged 6.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.7 steals per game.  Knell is also a star in the classroom with a 4.0 GPA.

Knell is rated 3-stars by Scout, Rivals, and ESPN (grade of 77) who list him as the No. 2 prospect in Utah for the Class of 2017. Knell held scholarship offers from Air Force, Cal, Montana, Rice, Robert Morris, San Diego, Santa Clara, Southern Utah, Utah State, Utah Valley, Washington State, Weber State, and Wyoming.  He was also seeing recruiting interest from Colorado, Stanford, Texas, Utah, and Washington. He originally committed to and signed with Cal but asked for a release from his commitment after a coaching change in March. He leaves on July 4th on an LDS Church mission to Uruguay.
