Getting to know incoming BYU football commit, PWO RB Spencer Ferguson (Class of 2021)

Spencer Ferguson is a BYU football signee for the Class of 2021, signing with the Cougs on June 16, 2021.

Ferguson is a 6-foot 195 pound running back that prepped at Davis High School (Kaysville, Utah). As a senior he rushed 252 times for 1692 yards (6.7 avg) and 21 touchdowns (MaxPreps). His 1692 yards was first in state for the 6A classification and second for all classifications.

As a junior Ferguson rushed 72 times for 426 yards (5.9 avg) and three touchdowns and had nine receptions for 93 yards. On defense he had 47 tackles (28 solo), one tackle for loss, four passes defended, two fumble recoveries and an interception. As a sophomore he rushed 30 times for 78 yards (2.6 avg) and a touchdown, with one three yard reception. On defense he had 22 tackles (11 solo) and four passes defended.

Ferguson is rated 2-stars by 247Sports (79) and rated the no. 50 overall prospect from Utah for the Class of 2021. Ferguson will enroll at BYU in 2023 after serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
