BYU secures commitment from 3-star JUCO CB Roman Rashada (Class of 2022)

Roman Rashada is the newest recruit to commit to play for BYU football. He announced his commitment yesterday, as reported on Twitter:

Rashada is a 6-foot-1 190-pound cornerback that played last season at Diablo Valley College (Pleasant Hill, CA).  In 2022 he played in six games and had 12 tackles (11 solo) with two sacks and a forced fumble recovered for a touchdown (DVCvikings.com).  He runs a reported 4.48 forty, has a 36.8-inch vertical, and can bench 270 pounds (HUDL). Prior to his time at Diablo Valley, Rashada spent the 2019-21 seasons at Laney College.

Rashada prepped at Freedom, Inderkum, and Vista Murrieta high schools (Sacramento, CA) where he played cornerback and safety. He played in just four games as a senior at Inderkum (2018) and two games as a junior. In those six games he had 21 tackles (14 solo), two passes defended, and one interception (MaxPreps).

Rashada is rated 3-stars by 247Sports (81), who rate him the no. 32 overall JUCO recruit from California and no. 142 recruit nationally. He holds scholarship offers from Colorado State, Hampton, and Washington with interest from Boise State, Miami, Oregon, and Tennessee.

He has three years to play two for the Cougs.
