BYU Football Profile: Riley Burt (Class of 2015)

burt_riley_por1Riley Burt is a 6’2” 195 pound running back/cornerback from Box Elder (UT) High School (Class of 2015) who has committed to the BYU football team. He is projected as #4/5 Field Corner for the 2015 season but could also see some time at running back.

Burt prepped at Box Elder High School, where he had 1020 yards rushing and 94 receiving for 10 touchdowns his senior year. He also had 196 kickoff return yards on nine returns and saw some time at cornerback. He was named to the Deseret News 4A All-State team and was a Salt Lake Tribune All-State honorable mention. Also named to the Deseret News 5A Region 5 All-Region Second team. Burt also competed for the track team where he ran a 10.93 100m, a 21.89 200m, and a 51.02 400m. He also threw the shot put.

Burt was rated 2-stars by Rivals and Scout. ESPN rated him 3-stars (grade of 77). He was also recruited by Boise State, SDSU, UNLV, Utah and Utah State and received some interest in running track from a few schools. Burt committed to the Cougars on July 7, 2014.
