Recruiting Recap: Two more offers, one un-commits, and some anticipation

There was a bit of movement this weekend on the BYU football recruiting front as two recruits announced that they received BYU football scholarship offers while a previous commit announced he’s no longer committed and a few others dropped hints that BYU is still in the hunt.

Micah Bowens II is a six-foot-one 175 pound quarterback and safety from Bishop Gorman high school (Las Vegas, NV). He has offers from Arizona and BYU and is also seeing interest from Nevada, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Stanford, Texas, and UNLV.

Rome Odunze is a Class of 2020 receiver that is flying under-the-radar due to only playing in four games as a sophomore with a broken collarbone. The 6-foot-2 185 pound receiver for Bishop Gorman got his first D1 offer from BYU, but it’s certain more offers are bound to come for this rising star.

Star quarterback Jacob Conover (Class of 20190) has had BYU high on his list and will be announcing his intentions next week according to Twitter:

Having expressed interest in serving an LDS mission many have speculated that BYU is in a good position to land this 4-star sensation that is currently holding offers from Alabama, Arizona State, Arizona, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and many others. BYU fans have to be encouraged seeing a picture of Steve Young as Conover’s background image in Twitter.

Khymani Martin announced via Twitter that he is no longer a BYU commit.

The 3-star receiver was recruited by Ty Detmer and has also been recruited by Texas Tech.

Finally, we might not want to read too much into this, but Class of 2021 sensation Kingsley Ah You Suamataia posted the following Mother’s Day picture to his Twitter feed:

With offers from Michigan, Nebraska, and a handful of PAC 12 schools it is certainly a good sign that the picture he wants his mom to see on Mother’s Day is one with her at BYU. Go Cougs!
