Daniel Sorensen and Kyle Van Noy each record five tackles. BYU Pro Football Tracker: Week 6

pro_trackerDaniel Sorensen had his best game of the season with five total tackles, equaling the five that Kyle Van Noy had for Detroit.  Meanwhile Ziggy was back in action with a tackle, and Paul Lasike had a one yard rush.  All statistics and snap counts for active players are recorded below.

Ezekiel “Ziggy” Ansah (DE, 2010-12; Detroit). Detroit (3-3) defeated Los Angles 31-28.  Ziggy had one solo tackle as he eased back into the lineup coming off an ankle sprain. He played 32 snaps on defense (55%). Season Totals: three tackles (2 solo, 1 assisted), one tackle for loss

John Denney (LS, 2001-04; Miami). Miami (2-4) defeated Pittsburgh 30-15. Denney played 10 snaps on special teams (38%) and recorded no stats.  Season Totals: No stats

Paul Lasike (RB/FB, 2012-14; Chicago).  Chicago (1-5) fell to Jacksonville 17-16. Lasike carried the ball one time for one yard (for a first down on a third and one).  He played 10 snaps on offense (12%).  Season Totals: two carries for three yards

Dennis Pitta (TE, 2004, 2007-09; Baltimore). Baltimore (3-3) continued to slide, falling 27-23 to the New York Giants.  Pitta started and was targeted 10 times.  He had six receptions for 36 yards, playing 64 offensive snaps (77%).  Season Totals: 34 receptions for 295 yards

Daniel Sorensen (DB, 2008, 2011-13; Kansas City). The Chiefs (3-2) defeated Oakland 26-10. Sorensen had his most productive game to date with four solo and one assisted tackle. He played 36 snaps on defense (64%) and another 17 snaps on special teams (74%).  Season Totals: 14 tackles (12 solo, 2 assisted); one TFL; two pass deflections; one INT.

Kyle Van Noy (LB, 2010-13; Detroit). Detroit (3-3) defeated Los Angles 31-28.  KVN had five solo tackles.  He started and played 49 defensive snaps (84%) and 8 more on special teams (33%).  Season Totals: 19 tackles (18 solo, one assisted); one TFL; one pass deflection.

  • Bronson Kaufusi (DE, 2012-15). On injured reserve for Baltimore Ravens.
  • Uani ‘Unga (MLB, 2011-13). On the injured reserve for New York Giants

Cougars on practice squads:

  • Mitch Mathews was signed o the Cleveland Browns practice squad
  • Jordan Leslie was added to the Tennessee Titans practice squad but was cut one week later
  • Cody Hoffman has spent this season on the practice squad for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL).
