As we reach the mid-point of the prep season is great to see how many of the BYU football commits are progressing. Here’s how each of them did this weekend in high school football:
Top Performers
The top BYU recruits in Utah and Texas this weekend included:
Leo Pulalasi has only played two games so far this season for Lakes High School in Washington, but those two games have been huge. This weekend he did a little bit of everything with seven carries for 45 yards and two touchdowns, two receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown, 10 tackles (nine solo), one tackle for loss, one pass defended, one blocked field goal, and one interception (returned 13 yards). Oh, and he also punted twice for 52 yards.
Miles Hall is another Cougar who has exceeded expectations this season. While his weekend was quieter than usual, he still managed six receptions for 53 yards, eight tackles (five solo), and an interception.
4-star tight end Jackson Bowers continues to show dominance on the field. This weekend he was rewarded as he broke the Mountain View career receptions record for tight ends, passing former 2x NFL Pro Bowler Todd Heap. Bowers played both sides of the ball in the game and made several key blocks.
