
There are 17 verbal commits to the BYU football program: 13 players committed as part of the Class of 2023, three in the Class of 2024, and one in the Class of 2025. Here’s how they did this weekend in high school football:
Utah Prep Football
Top Performers during week one include:
- Class of 2024 commit Easton Baker had a big night for Stansbury. The junior linebacker had 10 tackles (five solo), four tackles for loss, and a strip sack that his teammate ran in for a TD.
- Linebacker Owen Borg of Corner Canyon had 10 tackles in the loss to no. 6 nationally ranked Bishop Gorman.
- Springville had another dominating win (over Skyline 45-17). Starting quarterback and BYU commit Ryder Burton had a great game completing 10-of-18 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns, while defensive lineman and BYU commit Dallin Johnson had five tackles, one tackle for loss and two pass breakups
- Miles Hall had five receptions for 42 yards and a touchdown for Skyline, with nine tackles (three solo).

Owen Borg (LB, Class of 2023)
This week: Corner Canyon (UT, 1-1) fell to Bishop Gorman in Vegas 42-7. Borg had 10 tackles (seven solo) to lead the defense (MaxPreps, Deseret News).

Ryder Burton (QB, Class of 2023)
This Week: Springville (Utah 4A, 2-0) defeated Skyline 45-17. Burton complete 10-of-18 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns ton one interception. He also rushed five times for three yards (MaxPreps, Deseret News).
Season Totals: 17-of-31 for 261 yards and two touchdowns to one interception. Nine carries for 23 yards and two touchdowns.

Dallin Johnson (DT, Class of 2024).

Miles Hall (ATH, Class of 2023)
This Week: Skyline (Utah, 1-1) fell to Springville 45-17. Hall had five receptions for 42 yards and a touchdown, and nine tackles (three solo). (MaxPreps, Deseret News).
Season Totals: Eight receptions for 158 yards and four touchdowns, 19 tackles (nine solo), one pass defended, two kickoff returns for 34 yards. He is ranked no. 14 in the state for total TDs (4), and is no. 9 in 5A for total tackles.
