Prep Tracker, Week 17: BYU Commit Isaac Rex has seven receptions for 70 yards in San Clemente’s CIF-SS Title victory

prep_trackerOnly two future Cougs were still in-action last weekend in prep football.  Isaac Rex came up big for the San Clemente Tritons, recording seven receptions for 70 yards with his last reception setting up the final touchdown of the game. The Tritons won their first CIF-SS Title and will face Edison on Saturday for the Division 1A Southern crown.  The second game was Seth Willis’ final in Connecticut as his Nighthawks fell to Shelton 55-21.  Season summaries for each of the Cougar commits are listed below.

BYU Commits still in-action

  • Isaac Rex (TE, San Clemente HS, @Isaac_Rex1). San Clemente (11-3, 3-1) defeated Murrieta Valley 45-35 to win the CIF Southern sectionals, their first such title. Rex had a monster game with seven receptions for 70 yards. San Clemente will face Edison on Saturday in the Division 1-A South Title game. Season stats (in eight games): 20 receptions for 230 yards, 2 TD
  • Seth Willis (OL, Newtown HS; @seth_willy). The Nighthawks (10-1, 5-0) fell to Shelton 55-21 in the first round of the Connecticut LL Class playoffs. Season Totals: one solo tackle
