The 6-foot-four 305 pound Aumavae preps at St. Mary’s High School, where he was the 2015 TCAL League MVP, recording 48 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, 4 passes deflected, 3 quarterback hurries, 3 forced fumbles, and 4.5 sacks. He was also voted his team’s MVP, and to the All-NorCal first team.
Aumavae is rated 4-stars by Scout, who has him ranked as the No. 2 DT in California. He is rated 3-stars by Rivals and is not yet rated by ESPN. Aumavae holds scholarship offers from Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, Cal, Colorado, Colorado State, Fresno State, Hawaii, Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon, Oregon State, San Diego State, UCLA, USC, Utah, Washington, and Washington State. In March he told Brandon Huffman of Scout that “The ones I really like are Oregon, Michigan, and UCLA.”
