BYU lands 6-foot-7 forward transfer Nathan Webb (Class of 2022)

Nathan Webb, a transfer from Umpqua Community College, has joined the BYU basketball team as reported by his former coach via Twitter:

Webb is a 6-foot-7 205-pound forward that played two seasons at Umpqua Community College (Roseburg, Oregon).  In 2021-22 he averaged 23.7 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 52.3% from the field and 34.4% behind the arc (UCC Profile).  Webb was named the NWAC South Region MVP.

Webb prepped at Madison High School (Rexburg, Idaho), where his team was district champions twice and Southern Region champs Webb’s senior season.  Webb was named to the All-District first-team and All-State second team.

After a solid second season Webb was starting to generate recruiting interest from several D1 schools, including Ivy League schools.

Webb’s father Richie was part of the 1981 BYU basketball team that went to the elite 8.

I haven’t been able to track Webb down for an interview, but he is presumably joining the Cougs as a walk-on and will have three years of eligibility.
