- 2018 (Redshirt). Joined as a mid-year enrollee and played running back on scout team

High School. Pyper prepped at Hillcrest High School (Idaho Falls, Idaho), where he played running back, safety, and quarterback (MaxPreps). Was named Eastern Idaho and High Country Player of the Year (2014) and second-team All-Idaho. He ran a reported 4.55 forty and 11.4 100-meter, with a 28-inch vertical, a 235 bench, and 405 squat (HUDL). He competed in the 100-meter, 200-meter, long jump, and relays for the track and field team (Athletic.net).
