Mique Juarez is a 6’2” 226 pound Quarterback/Outside Linebacker prospect for the BYU football team (Class of 2016) and is the top rated recruit offered by the Cougs. He recently de-committed from USC following the firing of head coach Steve Sarkisian.

Juarez currently preps at North Torrance High School, where he does it all having spent time as a linebacker, defensive back, quarterback, wide receiver, and running back. As a junior he was an All-CIF Southern Section Western Division pick and a Daily Breeze All-Area first-team selection on defense. He was the Pioneer League Defensive Player of the Year as he recorded 107 tackles, 8.5 sacks, seven quarterback hurries, three interceptions, six pass deflections, and six forced fumbles in just 10 games. He also had 2,200+ all-purpose yards and 22 touchdowns on offense.

He has been even more dominant as a senior. In a September victory over Peninsula Juarez accounted for six total touchdowns (three passing, three rushing) as well as a two-point conversion. He topped that last week when he scored seven touchdowns in a 49-0 victory over Centennial (with 42 of those points coming in the first half). He had four touchdown passes, rushed for two more scores, and even took a kickoff return 90 yards to the house.

Juarez is rated 5-stars by Rivals and Scout with both services listing him as the No. 1 outside linebacker in the nation and Rivals naming him the No. 5 overall prospect. ESPN rates him 4-stars (grade of 85) and list him as the No. 4 OLB recruit in the nation and the No. 45 prospect overall. Juarez holds scholarship offers from BYU, California, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Oregon State, San Diego State, UCLA, USC, Utah, and Washington. While Juarez is LDS he has not shown considerable interest in BYU, who is recruiting him as a quarterback. As the top-pledge recruit in the PAC-12, some believe that UCLA is now the top school Juarez is considering.
