Fakahua prepped at Cedar High School (Cedar City, Utah), where as a junior in 2015 he carried the ball 127 times for 1250 yards and seven touchdowns, completed 107 of 210 passes (.509) for 2419 yards and 15 touchdowns to only five interceptions. As a senior he played in just seven games before sitting the rest of the season with a leg injury. In those games he completed 82 of 149 passes (.550) for 1363 yards and ten touchdowns (MaxPreps). He was named to the 2016 All-State second team and also played on the basketball team and ran track.
Recruitment. Fakahua was rated 2-stars by 247Sports (0.7790), who rated him the no. 27 overall prospect from Utah in the Class of 2017. He had scholarship offers to Southern Utah, Utah State, and Weber State.
