Getting to know new BYU commit, DE and Track star Logan Taylor (Class of 2019)

Logan Taylor had a busy weekend, committing to join BYU in track and football on Friday and then winning the Arizona state title for the 110 meter hurdles on Saturday.

Taylor preps at Maricopa High School (Maricopa, AZ), where as a senior his stats were off the charts.  He ended the season with 63 tackles (34 solo), with 22 for loss, 25 quarterback hurries, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries, a blocked punt, and 17 sacks with a strip sack returned for a touchdown (highlights posted below).  He was named to the All-county first-team

In track he runs the 110 and 300 meter hurdles, is part of the 4×400 meter team, and does the high jump. He has been hand timed running a 4.47 forty meters. He is joining BYU as a preferred walk-on in football and in track.

Taylor:  I got defensive MVP at my school my senior year and led the state in sacks with 17.5.

Taylor:  That no matter what you do or how hard you work to have fun because life in sports is all for nothing if you aren’t having fun.
