Lane Lunt: TE #80, Class of 2015

Lane Lunt is a 6-foot-4 235-pound tight end for Brigham Young University, who came to BYU via Eastern Arizona College and Butler Community College as part of the Class of 2015.

BYU summary: In two seasons at BYU (roster years 2020-2021), Lunt appeared in 20 games as a member of the special teams unit (BYUcougars.com).

  • 2022 (Senior).
  • 2021 (Junior). Played in 12 games on special teams.
  • 2020 (COVID Junior). Played in eight games.
  • 2016-2018 (LDS Mission). Kennewick, Washington

JUCO. Lunt played for Butler Community College (BCC) and Eastern Arizona college (EAC).  At BCC (2019) Lunt played four games and had three receptions for 118 yards and two touchdowns. At EAC (2018) Lunt had one 59-yard touchdown reception (NJCAA.org) and helped his team to a conference championship.

High School. Lunt prepped at Pima high school (Pima, Arizona), where he as a senior he had five carries for 27 yards and a touchdown, 38 receptions for 563 yards and seven touchdowns, 28 tackles (12 solo), with nine tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks (MaxPreps).  He also played basketball and competed in track and field for Pima.

Recruitment. Lunt was not recruited by BYU but came as a walk-on, then earned his way into a scholarship.

Personal. Lunt served a mission for the Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-Day Saints at Kennewick, Washington.
