4-star center Kolby Lee commits to play for Cougars in 2019

Kolby Lee is a 6-foot-9 260 pound center (Class of 2017) that made a verbal commitment to BYU yesterday.  He plans on serving an LDS mission before suiting up for the Cougs in 2019.


lee_kolby_150pxLee preps at Rocky Mountain High School (Meridian, Idaho), where he played in nine games as a freshman in 2013, and every game since, with 13.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game as a sophomore.  Last season (as a junior) he averaged 14.8 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game, despite battling several injuries. He was named to the All-Idaho second-team and was invited to participate in the Top 100 Basketball camp put on by the National Basketball Players Association.

Lee is rated 4-stars by ESPN (grade of 80), and 3-stars by Scout and Rivals. ESPN rates him the No. 1 prospect from Idaho, and the No. 23 center nationally.  He holds scholarship offers from American, Boise State, BYU, DePaul, Kent State, Portland, Richmond, Toledo, UC-Davis, and Utah State.  Lee is also being recruited by Oregon State and Washington State.
