Kingsley Suamataia: OL #78, Class of 2022

Kingsley Suamataia is a 6-foot-6 330-pound offensive lineman for Brigham Young University, recruited as part of the Class of 2022 as a transfer from Oregon.

Oregon. Suamataia suffered a minor foot injury and sat out most of 2021.

High School. Suamataia prepped at Orem high school (Orem, Utah), where he helped his team to four consecutive state championships (2017-20).  He was also  an All-American second-team selection, and an All-State first-team pick (MaxPreps).

Recruitment. Suamataia was rated 4-stars by 247Sports (0.9824), the highest rated transfer to ever come to BYU. He was the no. 1 recruit from Utah in the Class of 2020 and the no. 36 recruit nationally.  He held scholarship offers from Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, BYU, Cal, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Oregon State, Penn State, Pitt, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCLA, USC, Utah, Utah State, Virginia, Washington, Washington State, and Wisconsin. Suamataia committed to BYU on November 5, 2021.

Personal. Is former Orem HS teammates with current BYU teammates Puka Nacua, Hunter Hill, Jakob Robinson, Ethan Slade, and Joshua Singh.
