High School. Larsen prepped at Woods Cross High School (North Salt Lake, Utah), where he played offensive tackle, tight end, and defensive end. As a senior he had 48 tackles (29 Solo), eight tackles for loss, four quarterback hurries, two passes defended, two fumble recoveries, one interception, and five sacks (MaxPreps). Larsen was named to the 5A All-State team as an honorable mention. He also played basketball for Woods Cross.
Recruitment. Larsen was rated 3-stars by 247Sports (0.8024), who rated him the no. 19 overall prospect from Utah for the Class of 2020. Larsen was recruited by Utah, Utah State, and Weber State. He signed with BYU on December 18, 2019.
Personal. His father Jim was a pitcher for the BYU baseball team (1990, 1994), and his mother was a Cougarette.
