BYU Football Recruiting Spotlight: Jamire Calvin (Class of 2017)

Jamire Calvin is a 5’10” 175 pound wide receiver who received a scholarship offer on March 2, 2016 to play for the BYU football team (Class of 2017).

Calvin preps at Cathedral High School in Los Angeles, where as a junior he was the No. 3 punt returner in the nation with 18 returns for 522 yards (29.0 ave) and five punt return touchdowns.  As a receiver he had 53 receptions for 1000 yards and 17 touchdowns and was named to the All-League first-team.

Calvin is rated 3-stars by Rivals and Scout. He has not yet been ranked by ESPN.  Calvin holds scholarship offers from Boston College, BYU, Cal, Colorado, Colorado State, Fresno State, Hawaii, Louisville, Memphis, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Oregon State, Penn State, San Jose State, Tennessee, Utah, Utah State, Vanderbilt, Washington, and Washington State.  He is also being recruited by Baylor, Duke, Oregon, UCLA and USC.  He has noted that USC is one of the leaders in his recruiting.
