Jakob Hartsock is a 6’8” 205 pound forward for the BYU basketball team. He is a true freshman (Class of 2013), having recently returned from serving in the Las Vegas, Nevada LDS mission. He is currently averaging 2.0 points and 1.0 rebound in 4.5 minutes per game (six games total).

In High School he averaged 18.6 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks as a senior and was selected to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State team, and to the Oklahoma all-state third team. As a junior he averaged 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks while shooting .496 from the field and .366 from three. He was named to the all-state third team (Tulsa World).

Harsock was a 3-star recruit by Rivals and ESPN (grade of 72), and 2-stars from Scout. He was ranked by ESPN as the third best player in his class for Oklahoma and No. 56 among power forwards nationally. He was offered scholarships to play for BYU, Missouri State, and Utah State and was also recruited by Utah.
