Recruiting Profile: QB Jacob Conover (Class of 2019)

4-star recruit Jacob Conover (Class of 2019) chose BYU over Alabama and hometown ASU today, making his attentions known via Twitter:

Conover preps at Chandler High School, where as a senior he competed 223-of-327 passes (.682) for 3306 yards and 38 touchdowns to nine interceptions.  He carried the ball 50 times for 264 yards and two more touchdowns. As a junior he completed 164 of 248 passes (.661) for 3077 yards with 32 touchdowns and just two interceptions.  Many of those touchdowns were thrown to 2018 BYU signee Gunner Romney.  He also carried the ball 28 times for 113 yards and two more scores.  His sophomore season he went 215-for-308 (.698) for 3715 yards with 32 touchdowns to five interceptions.  He ran 56 times for 183 yards and four touchdowns.  He led his team to state titles both his sophomore and junior seasons.

Conover is rated 4-stars by 247Sports, Rivals, and ESPN (grade of 84). He is ranked the no. 9 Pro-style quarterback nationally by 247 Sports, and the no. 108 recruit overall for the Class of 2019 by ESPN. He holds scholarship offers from Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, Memphis, Nevada, Northwestern, Ole Miss, Oregon State, South Carolina, Utah State, and Washington State.  He is planning on serving an LDS mission out of high school and will be available to suit up for the 2021 season.
