- 2019 (Redshirt). Played in three games and rushed 25 times for 274 yards and two touchdowns. Had two receptions for -7 yards.

High School. McChesney prepped at Lone Peak High School (Highland, Utah), where as a senior he had 100 carries for 713 yards and 10 touchdowns, 34 receptions for 509 yards and three touchdowns, and five kickoff returns for 214 yards (42.8 avg) and a touchdown (MaxPreps). He ran a 4.46 forty, 10.95 100-meter, and 22.25 200-meter (Athletic.net). As a senior McChesney was named to the 5A All-State first team.
Recruitment. McChesney was rated 3-stars by 247Sports (0.8538), who rated him the no. 7 overall prospect from Utah in the Class of 2017. He saw recruiting interest from Alabama, Auburn, Notre Dame, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, Utah, Utah State, and Washington. McChesney committed to BYU on August 25, 2015 and enrolled June 30, 2017.
