He ran a 4.46 forty, 10.95 100-meter, and 22.25 200-meter (Athletic.net). As a senior McChesney was named to the 5A All-State first team.
Recruitment. McChesney was rated 3-stars by 247Sports (0.8538), who rated him the no. 7 overall prospect from Utah in the Class of 2017. He saw recruiting interest from Alabama, Auburn, Notre Dame, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, Utah, Utah State, and Washington. McChesney committed to BYU on August 25, 2015 and enrolled June 30, 2017.
