He was named to the All-State second-team (2015). Kaufusi also played on the basketball team.
Recruitment. Kaufusi was rated 3-stars by 247Sports (0.8335), who rated him the no. 21 overall prospect from Utah in the Class of 2016 and the no. 83 outside linebacker nationally. He held scholarship offers from BYU, Cal, Utah, Washington State, and Weber State. Kaufusi committed to BYU on January 26, 2016, signed on February 3, 2016 and enrolled on June 30, 2016.
Personal. Kaufusiis married to Hallie and has two children. He is the brother of former BYU linebacker Isaiah Kaufusi (2016-2020) and cousin for former BYU defensive linemen Bronson (2012-2015), Corbin (2016-2018), and Devin Kaufusi (2018-2019).
