Recruiting Profile: Isaac Rex (DE/TE, Class of 2017)

Today BYU received a verbal commitment from All-CIF tight end Isaac Rex (Class of 2017).  Rex is a 6’5” 240 pound TE/MLB who is rated 3-stars by Scout.

Rex prepped at San Clemente High School, where as a junior he had eight receptions for 96 yards (12.0 ypc) at the tight end position.  At linebacker he had 44 tackles (26 solo), one tackles for loss, one quarterback hurry, one pass deflection, and two interceptions.  He was named to the All-Seaview League and First-team All-CIF SW division.  He also plays on the basketball team.

Rex was rated 3-stars by Scout and Rivals but was not rated by ESPN. BYU was Rex’s only scholarship offer but he received interest from Hawaii, New Mexico, Oregon State, San Jose State, UCLA, Utah, Utah State, and Virginia.  He plans to serve an LDS mission.  Rex committed to BYU on March 19, 2016.
