In the NFL divisional round there were four former Cougs still in action with three advancing to the championship round this coming weekend.
Michael Davis and KVN squared off in the AFC divisional game with Van Noy and the Pats coming away with the win. Both had solid games. Daniel Sorensen also had solid numbers starting for Kansas City in their win.
And has there ever in the history of the NFL been a third string quarterback that has been so active on the roster that they play for 38 snaps (almost 50% of total) in a divisional playoff game? Taysom continues to do everything with a couple rushes, a tackle, and a couple missed opportunities at other positions in the Saint’s win.
Michael Davis (CB, Los Angeles, No. 43). Davis started at cornerback in LA’s 41-28 loss to the Patriots. He had three solo tackles and two assisted tackles in the loss. Davis played 82 defensive snaps (99%) and 15 more on special teams (44%). Taysom Hill (QB, New Orleans, No. 7). Hill was a backup quarterback in New Orlean’s come from behind 20-14 victory over Philadelphia. He had two rushes for eight yards, including a first down on a fake punt, was targeted once as a tight end, and had one tackle on a kickoff return. He also had a touchdown pass called back for a holding penalty. Hill played 19 snaps on offense (25%) and 19 more on special teams (79%). Season Totals: Four games as starter, 13 games as a substitute; 39 rushes for 204 yards, two rushing touchdowns, three-of-six passing for 64 yards and an INT, three receptions for four yards, 14 kickoff returns for 348 yards, one punt return for zero yards, five solo tackles, two assisted tackles, one blocked punt.

Kyle Van Noy (LB, New England, No. 53). Van Noy started in New England’s 41-28 victory over LA to advance to the AFC championship game. He recorded four solo tackles and a pass defended. Van Noy played 70 snaps on defense (99%) and 10 more on special teams (29%). Season Totals: 17 games as starter; 60 solo tackles, 35 assisted tackles, three passes defended, nine quarterback hurries, five tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, one interception, two fumble recoveries with one returned for a touchdown, one forced fumble, one touchdown on a blocked punt.

Daniel Sorensen (S, Kansas City, No. 49). Sorensen started at safety in Kansas City’s 31-13 victory over Indianapolis. He recorded one solo tackle and two assisted tackles. He played 47 snaps on defense (84%) and 10 more on special teams (34%). Season Totals: Four games as starter, four games as a substitute; 15 solo tackles, 13 assisted tackles, two passes defended, one quarterback hurry, one fumble recovery, one interception returned 54 yards for a touchdown.
