Tristen Hoge is a 6-foot-4 303 pound offensive lineman who is transferring from Notre Dame to BYU.

Hoge played in six games last season for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and was named the 2015 Notre Dame Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year.  He will have to sit out 2017 and will then have three years of eligibility.

He prepped at Highland High School (Pocatello, ID), where he was the Idaho Class 5A Player of the Year as a senior (Idaho Statesman) and the Idaho Gatorade Player of the year in both 2014 and 2015 (the first player in Idaho history to win it twice). He was a first-team offensive lineman on the 2015 Parade Prep All-American team and first-team offensive tackle on the USA Today American Family Insurance All-USA team in 2014.

Hoge was rated 4-stars by Scout, Rivals, and ESPN (grade of 83). He was ranked the No. 48 player national and No. offensive guard on the Scout 300 list, No 131 overall and No. 1 center on the ESPN 300 list, and listed in the 250 and 247Sports’ Top 247.  He held scholarship offers from Boise State, Cal, Duke, Florida, LSU, Northwestern, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oregon State, Penn State, Stanford, UCLA, Utah, Washington, and Washington State.  He also saw recruiting interest from Arkansas, Michigan State, Vanderbilt, and Wisconsin. Hoge is a cousin of current BYU quarterback Beau Hoge and a high school teammate of Oregon transfer Wayne Kirby.
