Rehkow prepped at Central Valley High School, where as a sophomore in 2014 he was named to the American Family Insurance All-USA Inland Northwest Postseason first-team. As a junior in 2015 he went 12-18 on field goals with longs of 52 and 57 yards. He was 30-34 on PATs and averaged 40.3 yards per punt. He was named to the All-Greater Spokane first-team as both a kicker and punter, and the AP Class 4A All-State first-team as a punter. He also played on the basketball team (see clip at bottom of page) and his father Freddie coaches the state champion Central Valley girls varsity basketball team.
Rehkow was rated 3-stars by Scout and ESPN (grade of 74) and 2-stars by Rivals. He received scholarship offers from BYU and Idaho (where his older brother Austin was an All-American punter). He was also recruited by Eastern Washington, Missouri, Virginia, Washington, and Washington State.
