pro_trackerIn a quiet weekend for Cougar alumni, Daniel Sorensen got loud, recording a career high seven solo tackles for the Kansas City Chiefs.  Sorensen also had a forced fumble on a two yard tackle for loss.  All statistics, snap counts, and transactions for active players are recorded below.

Ezekiel “Ziggy” Ansah (DE, 2010-12; Detroit). Detroit (4-4) fell to Houston 20-12.  Ziggy had one solo tackle, playing 48 snaps on defense (72%). Season Totals: six tackles (4 solo, 2 assisted), one tackle for loss

John Denney (LS, 2001-04; Miami). Miami (3-4) had a bye week.  Season Totals: No stats

Dennis Pitta (TE, 2004, 2007-09; Baltimore). Baltimore (3-4) had a bye week.  Season Totals: 38 receptions for 335 yards

Daniel Sorensen (DB, 2008, 2011-13; Kansas City). The Chiefs (5-2) defeated Indianapolis 30-14. Sorensen recorded a career high seven solo tackles as well as a forced fumble.  He played 47 snaps on defense (71%) and another 25 snaps on special teams (78%).  Season Totals: 27 tackles (25 solo, 2 assisted); two TFL; three pass deflections; two INT with one returned 48 yards for a TD; one sack.

Kyle Van Noy (LB, 2010-13; New England). Van Noy did not play in his first game post-trade from Detroit to New England.  The Patriots (7-1) defeated Buffalo 41-25.  Season Totals: 21 tackles (19 solo, two assisted); one TFL; one pass deflection.

Additional Cougars on the injured reserve:

  • Bronson Kaufusi (DE, 2012-15). On injured reserve for Baltimore Ravens.
  • Uani ‘Unga (MLB, 2011-13). On the injured reserve for New York Giants

Cougars on practice squads:

  • Paul Lasike (RB/FB, 2012-14; Chicago).  Lasike was waived (10/20) after appearing in four games this season (with one start). Season Totals: two carries for three yards
  • Mitch Mathews was signed o the Cleveland Browns practice squad
  • Jordan Leslie was spent one week on the Tennessee Titans practice squad in September, and was added on October 18th to the Cleveland Browns practice squad
  • Cody Hoffman has spent this season on the practice squad for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL).
