Noah Moeaki is a BYU football commit for the Class of 2022, giving a verbal commitment way back on April 14, 2019.

Moeaki is a 6-foot-3 205 pound tight end/linebacker that preps at American Fork High School (American Fork, UT). As a junior he had 41 receptions for 549 yards and 11 touchdowns (MaxPreps). On defense he had 42 tackles (11 solo), two tackles for loss, a sack, and an interception. His sophomore season he had 24 receptions for 175 yards and a score, 9 tackles (five solo), two tackles for loss, one sack, and one interception. His freshman season he saw time in two games and had seven tackles (three solo) with an interception. Moeaki also played for the basketball ball team his freshman and sophomore seasons, averaging 13.3 points per game his sophomore year.
Moeaki is rated 3-stars by Rivals and by 247Sports who rate him as the no. 7 overall recruit in Utah for the Class of 2022. He received scholarship offers from Air Force, San Diego State, Utah, Utah State, and Yale with interest from Northwestern, Notre Dame, Oregon State, Stanford, and UCLA. His father played for the Cougars. Moeaki plans to serve an LDS mission following high school and will join the Cougars as part of the Class of 2024.
I caught up with Moeaki to ask him about his recruiting.
BYU Insider: Why did you choose BYU?
Moeaki: It is close to home and having my family come watch is a huge plus. I also grew up idolizing the BYU football players and going to games and witnessing the BYU atmosphere. I’ve had many family members attend and play sports for the Cougars and I wanted to be apart of it.
BYU Insider: What other schools were showing you love in the recruiting process?
Moeaki: San Diego State, Air Force, and Utah State.
BYU Insider: What are some of your favorites?
Moeaki: Beyonce, R&B music, and sushi
BYU Insider: What is one of your greatest accomplishment in sports?
Moeaki: Starting for the state basketball championship team as a freshman and making it to two other state championships in football
BYU Insider: Who is a current player that you seek to emulate on the field?
Moeaki: Darren Waller for the Raiders, I love how he plays the game
