I caught up with Harper to ask him about his recruiting.

BYU Insider: Why did you choose BYU?

Harper:  I love the history, players in the NFL and Hall of Fame, the independent schedule for the next four years. I also love that it’s a family-oriented program that’s close to home with a great fan base and great network.  I love defensive backs coaches Gilford and Hadley as well as head coach Sitake.  They see me as a corner in the Dayan Ghanwoloku spot since my game is similar to his with our build, speed, and versatility to play multiple positions.

BYU Insider: What other schools were showing you love in the recruiting process?

Harper:  Syracuse, San Diego State, Army, and Air Force

BYU Insider: What are some of your favorites?

Harper:  Roddy Richh, YoungBoy, and Nipsey Hussle.

BYU Insider: Who is a current player that you seek to emulate on the field?

Harper:  I try to mimic my game like Patrick Peterson.
