Jonah Trinnaman is a 6’0” 190 pound wide receiver/kick returner for the Snow College Badgers that has committed to play for the BYU football team (Class of 2016). The 4-star (Scout) American Fork High School prospect is lightning fast (4.34 forty time), can leap small buildings in a single bound (44 inch vertical), and has been having a monster season for the Badgers. His 40.8 yards per kick return is leading the country for players with at least 10 attempts and he had 256 yards and two touchdowns receiving in their last game. While he is committed to BYU the offers are continuing to come, with Hawaii extending an offer yesterday. If he keeps playing as he has in the first five games he can expect several more offers from around the country.
Trinnaman prepped at American Fork High School, where as a junior he carried the rock nine times for 74 yards (8.2 yards/carry) with one touchdown and had eight receptions for 148 yards (18.5 yards/reception) and one more score. On defense he had 29 tackles, two pass deflections, and two interceptions. As a senior he had 22 carries for 177 yards and two touchdowns, 52 receptions for 702 yards and five touchdowns, eight kick returns for 269 yards (33.6 ave.), 29 tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, two quarterback hurries, two blocked field goals, three forced fumbles, eight pass deflections, and four interceptions. He was named to the All-Region 4 first team. Trinnaman also excelled on the track, placing 1st in the 5A state championships in the 100m (10.73), 10th in the 200m (22.67) just behind future teammate Dayan Lake, and also competed in the long jump.
As a freshman for Snow College, Trinnaman was the second-leading receiver with 24 receptions for 363 yards and six touchdowns. Through the first five games this his sophomore season he has two rushes for 12 yards, 27 receptions for 485 yards (18.0 ave) and five touchdowns, 11 kickoff returns for 445 yards (40.5 average) and one 99-yard touchdown return.
Trinnaman is rated 4-stars by Rivals, 3-stars by Scout, and ESPN has not yet rated him. He holds scholarship offers from BYU, Hawaii, Oregon State, and Utah. He was also recruited by Arizona State, California, Colorado, Colorado State, Nevada, Oregon, UNLV, USC, Utah State, and Washington. Trinnaman committed to the Cougars on June 23, 2015.
