JJ Nwigwe (pronounced “New-wig-wee”) is a 6’4” 260 pound offensive guard BYU football commit from Rockwall, Texas (Class of 2015). He is projected as the #2/3 center for the 2015 season.

Nwigwe prepped at Rockwall-Heath High School, where he was named to the District 12-5A second-team as a junior, and the first-team his senior season. He also wrestled for Rockwell-Heath, winning the District 9-5A title (heavyweight class, 285) while placing 4th place at the Region III-5A tournament.
Nwigwe was rated 3-stars by Scout, 2-stars by Rivals, and was unrated by ESPN. Scout have him as the No. 12 offensive guard in Texas and No.14 in the Midland region. Nwigwe held scholarship offers from BYU, Cal, Kansas, Navy, Nevada, New Mexico State, Northwestern State, and SMU. He was also recruited by Colorado, North Carolina, Northwestern, and Stephen F. Austin. Nwigwe committed to the Cougars on February 2, 2015.
