Jensen preps at Brighton High School, where he is a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to football. He was the starting quarterback as a 14 year-old freshman in 2012, passing for 957 yards, 9 TDs with 8 INTs and rushing for 304 more yards and a touchdown. He was an All-Region honorable mention as a freshman and also finished 6th in Utah throwing the javelin for the track team.
As a sophomore Jensen broke his wrist which necessitated a transition from quarterback to running back (621 yards and 10 touchdowns, 10 yards per carry), caught a few balls as receiver, and fielded kick returns, bring one to the house for a 75 yard touchdown in the season opener. He also started playing defense as safety and outside linebacker, registering 24 tackles and a sack. In addition to football he also spent some time on the hardwood playing limited minutes with the basketball team. His junior campaign was cut short due to injuries, but he is expected to start at quarterback as a senior. His high school coach Ryan Bullet told the Salt Lake Tribune that “He reminds me of BYU quarterback Taysom Hill. He’s a special kid.”
