BYU offers freshman All-American defensive end CJ Alatini (Class of 2019)

Update (March 16, 2016): Total Blue Sports has reported that Alatini immediately made a verbal commitment to BYU, making him the 2nd commitment in the Class of 2019.

BYU has offered a scholarship to Chuck “CJ” Alatini, a defensive end for Orem High School (UT).

Alatini is just a freshman (Class of 2019), but the a 6’2” 240 pounder has already generated some national buzz as a member of Team Utah and as top 10 selection in last year’s National middle school draft. At Orem High School (UT) he had three tackles and a sack as well as a couple carries as running back. Following the season he played in the Brett Cooper All-America game where he was named the defensive MVP.  Alatini is not yet rated Rivals, Scout, and ESPN, and BYU is his first of what are sure to be many scholarship offers.
