BYU’s newest commit Chaz Ah You does it all: Passes, catches, intercepts, tackles, punts, and rides on helicopters

Chaz Ah You became the final commitment for BYU’s football Class of 2017, and he did it with flair as he rode a helicopter into LaVell Edwards Stadium this morning.

Ah You is a 6-foot-2 190 pound safety that prepped his first three years at Westlake but spent his senior season at Timpview High School.  As a senior he had 56 tackles, three interceptions with two returned for touchdowns, and six forced fumbles.  He also caught 36 passes for 659 yards and four touchdowns.

In his four years of football he was 90-185 passing for 1049 yards and eight touchdowns, rushed 163 times for 709 yards and seven touchdowns, and caught 63 passes for 1024 yards and 10 touchdowns.  Throw in a few kick returns and he had 2782 total all-purpose yards and 24 touchdowns (and a two-point conversion) on his career.  On defense he had 155 total tackles (90 solo), five tackles for loss, three sacks, 2 quarterback hurries, 11 pass break ups, a fumble recovery, and five interceptions.  He punted 59 times for 2018 yards (34.2 avg), landing 16 of those in the twenty.  Oh, and he also played on the basketball team and place seventh in the state championships in long jump his sophomore year.

Ah You is rated 4-stars by Scout, Rivals, and ESPN (grade of 81).
