Bruce Mitchell is a 6-foot-4 265 pound lineman from the tiny town of Kamas, Utah.  Today he announced via Twitter his intent to play for the Cougars as part of the Class of 2019.

Mitchell preps at South Summit High School, where he as a junior he had 50 solo tackles and four sacks at defensive tackle while also playing on the offensive line. He helped lead his team to a football state title in 2017 and he also plays for the basketball team. BYU is his first scholarship offer.

Mitchell said he chose BYU because “it’s always been a dream of mine to play in a BYU Jersey. I’ve always wanted to play in LaVell Edwards stadium since I was a little kid.”  He plans to enroll in 2021 after serving an LDS mission.
